Illusions is the
first Richard Bach book that I ever read. Most people
start out with Jonathan
Livingston Seagul when
reading Richard Bach but my introduction was a little
more mind expanding. This is a story about a man
who has extraordinary abilities and struggles to
deal with the real world implications of living beyond
what most people believe is possible. It is a must
read. |

Many Lives, Many Masters was recommended to me by a close friend. She said the book changed her life and I have to agree that I had the same experience. I read the book, out loud, with my partner at the time and he and I spent 2 days of a Mexican vacation, reading, relating what we were learning to our lives, and seeing ourselves and the world completely differently. We had epiphany after epiphany, insight after insight, into the true nature of the history of our relationship dynamics. This book is powerful! |

Journeys out of the body is Bob Monroe's first book
in a series of three ( Far
Journeys and The
Ultimate Journey). I highly recommend reading all three books.
Bob Monroe was a business man who experienced leaving
his body. He went to many doctors to find out if something
was wrong with him. After being reassured that he was
perfectly healthy, he decided to begin exploring what
there is to experience"outside of our bodies".
He eventually created a lab that was dedicated solely
to exploring our non-physical world. When reading his
last book The
Ultimate Journey, I spontaneously popped
out of my body. It was at this time that I understood
the difference between taking my consciousness to another
place and actually leaving my body. I really understood
in that moment that the person I know myself to be,
has nothing very little to do with my body, and that
my body, is NOT who I am. |
|
Journey of Souls is another book that was eye opening
to me. It resonated as true to me. It also relates
to the "learning environment" concept that
Bob Monroe talks about in his books. Often my dreams
take place in a school setting. I believe this is because
when I am sleeping, my true self really is in school
in some spiritual location. Read the book and see if
it rings true for you too. |

Sanaya Roman is truly gifted at explaining the dynamics
of the human subtle energy system. She puts the ideas
in very simple terms that anyone can understand. I
highly recommend here other books also, namely: "Living
With Joy: Keys to Personal Power and Spiritual Transformation
(Earth Life Series, Book I)", "Spiritual
Growth: Being Your Higher Self (Earth Life Book III)",
and "Opening to Channel: How to Connect With Your
Guide (Birth Into Light)". |
|
In this book, Williams Collinge explores the human
subtle energy system, subtle energy in nature, subtle
energy in relationships, and how to maintain our subtle
energy system through breathing, exercise, food choices,
meditation and prayer. It is a must read for those
learning about subtle energy, what it is, and how it
works. |

BOOKS THAT TAUGHT ME ABOUT HEALING |
|
Caroline Myss is a pioneer in the Medical Intuitive
field and an expert in relationship to the inter-relatedness
of our health, psychology, spirit, and our subtle energy
system. This classic is a must read for understanding
the underlying issues of illness and life difficulties
in general. Another fabulous book that is a must have
is "Why
People Don't Heal and How They Can".
In addition her work on "Sacred
Contracts : Awakening Your Divine Potential" and "Self
Esteem: Your Fundamental Power" is like no other. I recommend
getting the audio book of the Self Esteem book and
listening to it during your commute. You'll love it. |
|
Barbara Brennan's Hands of Light and her followup "Light
Emerging : The Journey of Personal Healing", are
some of the most complete works on healing through
the subtle energy system that I have seen. Barbara
is a scientist, who got in touch with her intuitive
abilities and used her developing connectionw with
spirit to heal people. Her description of the human
subtle energy system is detailed and explicit. She
has a school in New York that teaches people how to
heal using the information that she has learned. |

I have had the chance to go to one of Donna Eden's
workshops. She combines her exhaustive knowledge of
chakras and the aura with an equally exhaustive knowledge
of the meridian system used in Traditional Chinese
Medicine. Combining these two systems, she has created
a how-to manual for maintaining and healing our mental,
emotional, and physical ailments. This book is highly
recommended. |

Diane Stein created quite a bit of magic for me while
reading this book. I was reading it with my fiance
and spontaneously started to channel a healing guide
being discussed in the book. I was shocked by the experience
and delighted at the same time. I knew it was real
because of the magical way in which it unfolded. I
had my back towards my fiance, on a couch perpendicular
to his, with my eyes closed. He took notes as I repeated
what was being spoken to me. There were periodic pauses.
Later I found out that the pauses were perfectly timed
to my fiances need to catch up with his writing what
was being channeled. We were both amazed and inspired. |

Larry Dossey is a hero of mine because he was brave
enough to bridge the gap between modern day science
and spirit. He is a medical doctor who believes in
the power of the mind and the power of spirit to heal.
He has investigated and participated in scientific
research that proves the efficacy of prayer. Over and
over again he makes the case for including the power
of the mind in the healing services provided by medical
professionals. He's on the cutting edge. His other
books include: "Healing
Words", "Healing
Beyond the Body : Medicine and the Infinite Reach of
the Mind", and "Be
Careful What You Pray For...You Just Might Get It". |

Doreen Virtue is known as "The Angel Lady".
She has a PhD in Psychology and was raised as a Christian
Scientist. She teaches people how to connect to the
spiritual realm and has a large list of books out on
the topic of healing. Some of them are: "Chakra
Clearing: Awakening Your Spiritual Power to Know and
Heal", "Karma
Releasing: Clearing Away Painful Patterns from Your
Past", "Chakra
Clearing: A Morning and Evening Meditation to Awaken
Your Spiritual Power", and "Angel
Therapy: Healing Messages for Every Area of Your Life". For a more extensive

For changing your
life and getting inspiration, try these: |
|
No body is better than Barbar Sher for getting you
to make the changes necessary to have whatever you
want in life. She is so down to earth and so practical,
anyone could put her strategies to work. She doesn't
make you change who you are, she just shows you the
way to where you want to be. I highly recommend you
also read "Wishcraft
: How to Get What You Really Want", "I
Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What", and "It's
Only Too Late If You Don't Start Now : How to Create
Your Second Life After Forty". |

This book is a spiritual surprise! It chronicles
the metaphysical investigations of one of our most
loved fiction writers, Michael Crichton. He tells of
learning how to bend spoons, talk to trees and see
auras among other things. It is a great read and inspirational.
If you really like this book travels, you will LOVE, "A
Fortune-Teller Told Me : Earthbound Travels in the
Far East" by TIZIANO TERZANI, an italian journalist
who lived in and reported on Asia. He tells the tale
of a year with no air travel througout Asia. He didn't
fly on the advice of a fortune teller 17 years previous.
Read to find out if why the fortune teller gave him
this advice and whether it had any merit. This is spiritual
entertainment at its best. And it is a true story. |

Meditation |
|
It is best to learn mediation by doing it, but if
you would like to know more about it, I recommend this
book by Wayne Dyer. For inspiritation, I highly recommend
Wayne's book, "Wisdom
of the Ages: A Modern Master Brings Eternal Truth into
Everyday Life". Wayne
Dyer has a lot of books and all of them are helpful
on your journey to personal and spiritual growth. Click
here for a complete list of Wayne Dyer Books. |

Brian L. Weiss, the author of "Many Lives, Many
Masters" wrote a book that has a CD attached that
takes you through the process of past life regression.
I recommend it. It is very useful if you are interested
in exploring past lives. He also has a book on mediation
entitled, "Meditation:
Achieving Inner Peace and Tranquility in Your Life
(Little Books and CDs)". |

Although this book isn't exclusively about meditation,
it is an excellent introduction to Buddhism for Westeners.
Lama Surya Das is a Jewish New Yorker who tells it
like it is, in plain english. He has been a Lama now
for over 20 years. I suggest this book because no one
is better at developing a disciplined mind then the
Buddhists. Learning their teachings helps you to meditate
and take control of your most powerful asset, your
mind. Click here for a list of all books by Lama Surya

In this powerful little book, Thomas Keating expounds
on Contemplative Prayer, which is the Christian version
of mediation. He is a Christian monk who has revived
the practice of Contemplative Prayer among the modern
christian population. His writing is profound and deeply
sincere. I highly recommend this book in particular.
